Day 2 Ride Report

Now the ride has started.

After years of conditioning for early starts with the Acton cycling boys waking up at 5:30 is a veritable lie in, I’m not sure my roomy, Ben, feels quite the same though! Bouncing out of bed before your alarm and being incredibly happy about life and the day ahead isn’t what he was expecting, ha.

After a solid breakfast we were checked out and ready to ride for the leisurely 7am start - I could have been out, back and annoying Babs by now on a normal Thursday

Stages 1-3

We couldn’t have asked for better weather in Northern France, cold, fresh and most importantly, dry!

Lights on and we rolled out just before 7, and then it was pretty uneventful to lunch. We’re not permitted to take photos while riding so these shots are a little difficult to take! Currently I also haven’t got access to the professional photos either, so I’m afraid this is all you can have today!

Stages 4-5

More rolling countryside with the occasional lump this afternoon. A couple of people were beginning to struggle, so I popped to the front to turn the screw 😉.

It was a cold end to the day with some sketchy descending into the dark, I quite enjoyed it, others not so much.

It would be nice to see some Z2 tomorrow 👀
